Alright, fellow TCHA members. I purchased a program that has been raved about by major names in the hunting industry called buckscore.com that is supposed to allow me to score a buck from trailcam photos. So far, I'm learning and not very good at it, but am promised with practice, I should be able to score a buck within +/- 5%.

When you have a trail cam photo of a buck at a 0*, 45*, or 90* angle and want me to try it out for you, send me the photo and I'll give it a shot.

Check out the website for details, but I've already purchased, so I can do as many as I want.

Let's see if we can have some fun with this.

An update on the program.......It's not working as well as I had hoped. I've tested it against "known" scored bucks and am having some problems. I have e-mailed the developers and they tell me it takes practice, so I'm working on it. I am getting better, though. The developers are really nice and responsive and seem to be willing to do anything they can to help out.

First thing i would learn how to age a deer without looking at the horns...in most cases the older the deer the bigger the antlers...

With the drought conditions that we are having now bucks will not be at there best and even some my look to be culls!.....

Aging and scoring deer by a pic is a guessing game but like building a house from a blueprint by scale it can get very close to live measurements or should i say dead rendeer measurements.

Buckscore has came up with the blueprint on scoring deer antlers online or from a pic... First of all getting the right angle pic from the game cam can be a challenge. Most all of us can look at the pic and say yea! he`s about a 140 and a lot of the time we get very close.

Like all the scoring systems out there today, practice makes perfect.... I for one like the string, pencil and paper method but before all this learning to age a deer comes first...

Thanks, RD. I'm pretty good judging up to about 160, but after that, it's a guessing game.
